The drive you no longer have to make
Grooming a dog in Al Khor has traditionally meant an hour to Doha, a wait, and an hour back — most of a day, in a car, in the heat, twice. That is why so many dogs here get groomed twice a year instead of every six weeks, and why so many of the coats we see on a first visit are matted.
We schedule the north as a run rather than a one-off, so the visit costs the same as it would in the city.
Compound life
Much of Al Khor's pet population lives in the residential compounds, which are ideal for us: predictable parking, short walks between villas, and neighbours who tend to book together once the van appears.
If you can gather two or three households onto the same morning, tell us — consecutive slots on one street are the easiest booking we take.
Desert and beach coats
Dogs up here get more genuine outdoor time than city dogs — beach, mangroves, open ground — and the coat shows it. Fine sand, grass seed and salt, worked down to the skin.
Grass seeds in particular are worth catching early. They migrate inward through a coat and into ear canals and between toes, and by the time they are causing obvious trouble it is a vet's job rather than a groomer's.
